The Songwriters Showcase features four of the most unique, inventive, and entertaining singer-songwriters in Australia.

Andy Penkow is a singer-songwriter with a unique sound and a chocolate-smooth but powerful voice that’s steeped in honesty. Andy’s songs, including Before I Go, Chasing The Sun, and Drowning in the Whisky, have all scored well on the Australian music charts, and he has had 8 Top 20 singles on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Charts.

Andy has garnered critical acclaim for his songwriting skills including a nomination for TSA New Songwriter of the Year 2020 and won Most Popular New Male Artist at the 2021 Independent Country Music Association Awards.

Kora Naughton was just 16 years old when she signed her first record deal and released her debut album, Ride or Die. Her first two singles Wrong and I Don’t Wanna Grow Up hit the Australian Top 10 charts. In 2021, she released her second album, Nineteen, which reached #11 on the ARIA Country Albums charts in March 2021 and continues to receive critical acclaim.

Kora has achieved as well as endured much in her time, and her songwriting reflects this in spades. Nineteen cements Kora not only an artist of great ability, but one who is in firm command of her unique style of music.

Blake Dantier – Picture you’re in a nostalgic honky tonk bar late at night. A country song is humbly filling the silence between barflies murmuring and the chink of glasses - crying steel guitar licks and fiddles…that's Blake Dantier

Blake cleverly blends his love of traditional Country music with today’s contemporary and alternative sounds. Both Blake’s songs and those he’s co-written with Cass Hopetoun have been charting very well on the CountryTown Top 50 chart, including Shots, Typical Bride, and Who Needs Hawaii. His songwriting ability has seen him earn several prestigious songwriting awards from the Tamworth Songwriters Association.

Lucie Tiger – a flamin’ haired country rocker who’s Southern in spirit but not yet in zipcode, finishes out the night. The embodiment of a Southern-infused country rock singer/songwriter, Lucie’s inspiration is drawn from her time spent on the road in the USA.

Lucie’s song Gasoline won the Tamworth Songwriters Association Country Blues Song of the Year 2021, and her recent releases Found My Home and Midnight Goodbye have charted well on the CountryTown Top 50 and the MusicRow Country Breakout chart in the United States, where she regularly records and tours when she’s not playing gigs around Sydney.
