Jordie Lane release his new EP 'Not Built To Last' on October 18th, followed by a 20-date national tour with support from two-time Juno Award winning Canadian artist Old Man Luedecke.
Recorded at The Casino in Nashville over 3 days, 'Not Built To Last' is produced by Skylar Wilson (Justin Townes Earle, Caitlin Rose, Wanda Jackson) and features an all-star Nashville band. It is Lane's 4th release to date, and sees him shift away from the DIY, stripped back recording style of critically acclaimed 2011 album 'Blood Thinner'.
Over five songs, Lane embraces a classic 70's aesthetic, launching with the shining and infectious 'Here She Comes', followed by the desolate, and moody 'Dead Of Light', which closes with a Daft Punk inspired groove over the line "we're not built to last".
'Maybe Someday' see's Lane unleash his soaring vocal on a bittersweet, Brunswick Street inspired love song, while 'Lost In You' harks back to the lyrical folk sound he has built his reputation on. Lane tips his hat to fellow Melbourne songwriter Brendan Welch on the closer 'Think I Always Thought', which encapsulates the record's defining themes of transience and mortality.
Lane returns to Australia after a successful year touring in North America, and brings with him acclaimed Canadian singer songwriter Old Man Luedecke. The pair will play all 20 shows together, collaborating on each other's' extensive back catalogues, and indulging their mutual penchant for storytelling. Old Man Luedecke is releasing his Juno Award winning album 'Tender Is The Night' through Planet/MGM.
