Joining GZA on Australian shores for this once-in-a-lifetime show will be PHAROAHE MONCH.

Wu-Tangs GZA returns to Sydney for a very special show performing his outstanding album LIQUID SWORDS in its entirety! Joining GZA on Australian shores for this once-in-a-lifetime show will be PHAROAHE MONCH. When it comes to thought provoking, street-bred raw lyricism, The Wu-Tang Clans fountain of wisdom, GZA takes his job very seriously. The way he crafts his double-edged rhyme flow mirrors the skill and precise technique of one who works with fine ceramics. GZAs metaphoric and multi-layered lyrics are often touted by critics as his rap name implies; genius.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in every borough of New York City, The GZAs workmanship can be found three albums deep with classics dating back to 1991 including the albums Words From The Genius, the gold-selling Liquid Swords and Beneath The Surface. On his latest blockbuster album Legend Of The Liquid Sword, The GZA makes reference to his hip- hop foundation on the reflective What We Die For. I grew up around B-Boys, DJs, MCs, through rap, never thinking in ways of TV, the Genius raps. It was strictly all about magnificent rhyme clout. The wave of Hip-Hop runs through all of us with certain keys touching all of us at certain levels. Where some flood the masses with a river of average music, PHAROAHE MONCH, throughout his storied career, has always chosen to attempt to reach the souls of Hip-Hop folk with high caliber lyricism over a wide variety of music inspired by some of the greatest musicians of all time. Music is dear to me, says MONCH, it is the soundtrack to our history. So many legends have partaken in it since its inception.

An artist from birth, the Queens, NY born and bred emcee began his experience with expression as a visual artist, putting his heart and soul on canvass. While in art school, PHAROAHE was introduced to Hip-Hop culture through its visual manifestations of graffiti and fashion. From there he discovered DJing and rapping and instantly recognized them as the viable means of expression they have been since their inception. To PHAROAHE, art is a unifying force that brings together all divisions.
