LIAM GALE (full band show)

Smoky voiced and nimble fingered, Liam Gale sings folk tunes and blues ballads about love and sex. Be it in bedrooms or on festival stages, his sentimental music sways romantics and deviants alike.

“Gravitas and turmoil seep from this... it twists and turns through the sumptuous darkness.” - Nkechi Anele, Triple J

A sharp guitarist with an undeniable pop sensibility, Liam Gale fuses the familiarity of myth and fable with the poetry of his own queer narrative. Witty, intelligent and playful, his songwriting delivers blow after blow of triumph and tragedy, melodrama and melancholy.

CHRISTINE JANE

With a voice that evokes the aches of another world and soothes the most savage beasts, Christine Jane’s performances are not to be missed. Her unique sound is described as ‘cinematic blues’. Infusing stories from her deeply layered book of memories with her love of cinema score, blues and folk, she walks the line between modern and romantic, traditional and rebellious. Come and be transported by the quirky darkness of her forthcoming record SONGS FOR BLEEDING HEARTS.

CATHERINE TRAICOS

Catherine Traicos is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who has graced such diverse stages as Nashville's iconic Bluebird Cafe, The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, the Quarry Amphitheatre in Perth and the Junkyard in Maitland.

She has played International Arts Festivals around Australia and appeared overseas at the Americana Music Festival, and the Live at Heart Festival in Sweden. She has supported significant musical acts including Beth Orton, the Mountain Goats, Dirty Projectors, Simone Felice and Spiral Stairs.

Catherine’s work has been lauded by Rolling Stone Magazine (2013), the Age (2009- 2019), the Sydney Morning Herald (2009-2017), and in 2012 she was named Unpaved’s Female Artist of the Year.

Soaring on the back of strong yet vulnerable vocals, her work is raw and emotive, strikingly stark and a perfect hybrid of the personal and professional craft of a unique voice in Australian music.

“…redolent in parts of the ragged, eerie estrogen blues of PJ Harvey or the gaunt bluegrass sonnets of Gillian Welch”

(Album of the Month) – The  Age, Melbourne Magazine, 2009

"These unsettling blues-influenced songs simmer with a sense of noir, an impressive meeting of the earthy song-writing of Beth Orton with the grim undercurrents of, say, Portishead."

Barnaby Smith, Rolling Stone Magazine, 2014

“This album may have been hard to make, but its eventual birth marks Traicos as an artist of exceptional poise and talent, as many of us have known for years.

Samuel J Fell, Sydney Morning Herald, 2017
