Slaughter in the Vanguard; the heavy beast of distortion has awoken!
On Saturday June 25th prepare yourselves for a full frontal lobe attack of heavy metal at Sydneys’ THE VANGUARD featuring New Zealands Speed Metal Maniacs ‘Stalker’, Reaper, Carcinoid, Malignant Aura, Foothills, Asura, Bastardizer & Mammons Throne.

The festival was born in 2008 when the promoter (Anthony Blayney – formerly Sydney Metal) was engaged in creating awareness of the local heavy music scene in Australia, particularly Sydney NSW after noticing poor attendance at local shows.

Curating a line-up of local bands, the promoter ran the all-day metal fest event at the legendary Lewisham Hotel AKA The Haunted Castle.
With Stalker in town all the way from Wellington, NZ; the trio is ready to shred like never before and will headline this come back to Australia.
Now in 2022; the local heavy scene is thriving and to celebrate this growing obsession and obedience to the riff, we bring back SLAUGHTER IN THE VANGUARD.
