After releasing their critically praised single 'Radar', Sydney-based indie sextet Papaya Tree have
just unveiled an Australian Tour promoting their striking new cut 'Youth' - recorded and produced by
Phan Sjarif (Middle Kids) at Parliament Studios, Annandale.
Papaya Tree yet again produce a splattered canvas of colourful horns, crooning vocals and pure
indie-rock sweetness; guaranteed to pull at those heart strings. 'Youth' builds to a frenetic
crescendo, vividly unmasking the hidden angst of lead singer, Lee McDermott, who explains the
meaning behind the track "Youth addresses the age-old wives tale; the apple doesn't fall far from the
tree".

Off the back of supporting Sex On Toast on their Australian East Coast Tour, playing acclaimed
venues such as the Metro Theatre and selling out their stand-alone single launch for 'Youth' at
Waywards in Sydney, the band are celebrating by embarking on an extensive national tour this
February and March.

Young, fresh and eager to please (if you'd let them). Papaya Tree 's namesake fruit isn't the only
thing sweet about this band. They have had the opportunity to create an eclectic mix of styles,
melding elements of rock, funk, and jazz to create their sound. Since Papaya Tree's conception two
years ago they have toured Australia extensively, playing boutique festivals Psyfari and Wollombi
and now the legendary Nannup Music Festival in the WA.
