Secret Sounds return with their monthly club night ‘Ground Level’ on Thursday 14 December at The Lansdowne, Downstairs. Showcasing the very best local and emerging talent, alongside surprise international guests. The December edition will feature tiffi, YDE and Daphnie.

tiffi:
At 20 years of age, tiffi has already been making music for nearly half her life—despite having no formal musical training. The Taiwanese-Australian indie pop singer-songwriter from Western Sydney picked up the guitar around 11, started releasing music online at 13, and had amassed over 50 million streams by her 20th birthday, without ever having left her bedroom.

Today, her loyal fanbase—largely built across the US, Asia and Europe—totals more than 500K monthly listeners on Spotify, even catching the attention of Anthony Fantano on a Youtube Livestream with her infectious songwriting and cheeky debonair lyrics.

YDE:
With razor-sharp lyrics about personal transformation, and her relationship with the future, YDE (EE-dee) writes catchy, alt-skewering pop songs about what it means to be human. Simultaneously humble and herculean, the Australian-born, Filipino singer/songwriter dives even deeper into the human condition on her new single, “Old Her,” and upcoming project via Warner Records.“Ultimately, I really hope that people who need to hear my music, hear it,” YDE says.

Born in Australia, Breanna, her real name, moved to the US with her parents as a toddler. YDE went on to land starring roles on Nickelodeon series,The Haunted Hathaways at the age of nine, and School of Rock, before landing on the Netflix Series, Malibu Rescue. Most recently, the multi-faceted artist starred in the live production of WILD: A Musical Becoming alongside Idina Menzel.

Daphnie:
Professionally sensitive, Daphnie is the alter ego of Sydney drummer and producer Alistair Hayes. After finishing a degree in jazz performance, the self proclaimed “jazz nerd” renounced his education in the name of alternative pop, starting his solo project and starring as half of the duo youproblem. Daphnie produces unusual but fun soundscapes to support catchy pop melodies, pulling lyrically understated metaphors from his personal relationships. Daphnie has honed his songwriting skills by writing music with and playing drums for artists such as flowerkid, RIIKI REID, LORA, Lola Scott, Loretta, Stellie, Sammi Constantine, ioakim, Holly Hebe, and Ivoris. After realising that being behind the drums isn’t the only thing he wants to do on stage, the drummer turned producer/songwriter started writing his own music, defining his sonic signatures through the covid lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. Daphnie has supported Aussie icons like Last Dinosaurs and MAY-A, toured with Loretta, and his debut mixtape has received radio airplay on Triple J Radio, Triple J Unearthed, editorial support from Spotify and Apple Music, with music videos landing on RAGE and MTV.

Daphnie is consistently pushing his music out into the world, so go get ready for it xx.
