CRAYON FIELDS 'No One Deserves You' Album Launch
Crayon Fields, Melbourne's own euphoric pop icons, launch their third album No One Deserves You, their first since 2009's All the Pleasures Of the World.
All the Pleasures was a worldwide phenomenon, one of the first Melbourne albums of the modern era to reach an international audience. The album led to Pitchfork raves, tours of the US and Europe and releases in Japan and the UK.
Coming off their third overseas tour in 2010, the band took a break that turned into more of a hiatus. Band frontman Geoffrey O'Connor launched his solo career with 2011's Vanity Is Forever and 2014's Fan Fiction, but Crayon Fields continued quietly working on another album.
The result is a glorious pop record. No One Deserves You presents Crayon Fields in vibrant technicolour, full and free and self-assured. It also shows how a six year gap has replaced innocence with something more worldly. Since forming in high school in the early 2000s, at different points Crayon Fields have been scrappy kids, wide-eyed ingenues, and magical pop sprites. Now they take their final form as assured pop conquerors. Welcome back Crayon Fields, we've missed you!
At their Melbourne album launch, Crayon Fields will be joined by the sophisticated pop champions, Totally Mild and Brisbane teenage sensations, The Goon Sax.
