The goliaths of gloom go toe to toe! These two iconic bands who have reached great heights pitted against each other on this battle of the tributes. Gothic pop and indie rock at its finest.

“How Soon Is Now” or “A Forest” ? “This Charming Man” or “Just Like Heaven “?

Featuring some of Sydney's hardest working musicians, the band chooses some of these iconic band’s most loved songs and faithfully performs them with a likeness to the original recordings. Head to head. The Cure vs The Smiths.

The band traces the Cure’s 40 plus year career and musical evolution from the early new wave hits from the late seventies like Boys Don't Cry and A Forest through the creative zenith of mid eighties “gothic” hits like Lovesong and Fascination Street to the modern “ alt rock” hits such as Friday I'm In Love, In Between Days, Close to Me and of course Love Cats.

The show also tackles The Smiths short but illustrious career - 60 recorded songs, numerous singles, four studio albums and countless compilations - kicking off with early singles “Hand In Glove “ and “This Charming Man” through the epic “How Soon Is Now” and melancholic “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” and picking heavily from the Classic “The Queen Is Dead” album which recently celebrated its 35 year anniversary.

Capturing the music scene from the late seventies to more recent years, The Cure Vs The Smiths pays tribute to two of the most iconic bands of the last 40 years Gothic pop and indie rock at its best from Three Imaginary Boys to Strangeways Here We Come, the band features:

Sam Joole - vocals and guitar. Sam brilliantly recreates Robert Smith’s melancholy imagery and makes it his own. Don’t be calling it goth though…

Chris Alford - vocals and keyboards. Chris is as faithful as possible to Morrisey both in looks and sound. Did you ever think you’d see Morrisey playing keyboards for the Cure?

Jason DeWilde - Guitar. Is there a guitar hero harder to emulate than Johnny Marr? Jason pulls it off as well as the Handling the subtleties of The Cure guitar parts.

Cameron Lees -  Bass. The Bass is the secret weapon of both bands and Cam plays it to perfection.

Dave Kirby - Drums. Dave holds the whole thing together, whether it’s the machine like beats of the Cure’s early days, the groovy sounds of later years or the retro swing of the Smiths hits.

Together The Cure Versus The Smiths Show faithfully curates the classic hits and fan favourites!
