Freo.social on a Friday night - just the perfect venue for the official launch of Little Rebellion – WA singer/songwriter Steve Standing’s ambitious 13 track followup to debut album Each Waking Hour.

Little Rebellion is Steve’s unique take on Aussie indi/alt rock and blues  - you might be reminded of Don Walker, The Triffids, Crowded House and The Church.

The evocative lyrics on Little Rebellion put the spotlight on some of the challenges of modern life, and explore some of WA’s wilderness, including the iconic Bibbulmun Track, and Mandalay Beach – the site of one of WA’s most famous shipwrecks.

Steve has assembled a stellar band to help him showcase Little Rebellion. Along with Steve’s vocals, piano and acoustic guitar, expect some searing electric guitar work from WA music legend David Hyams (who produced Little Rebellion). Another star of the WA music scene, bassist Roy Martinez, and triple J unearthed drummer/singer/songwriter Gregory Brenton, will provide the rhythm section. Lee Buddle will be stepping out from behind the console at Crank Studios (where Little Rebellion was recorded) to play sax and various other instruments. Singer/songwriter Kris Kingwell’s soaring backing vocals will be a highlight, and Lizzie Farrelly (violin) and Craig Colvin (keyboard) round out the terrific lineup.
