Sam Buckingham with Slow Ships
After an impressive couple of years since releasing her acclaimed album “The Water” singer, songwriter, poet Sam Buckingham will hit the road solo, in support of her latest single “Real Life”. SUPPORTED BY SLOW SHIPS.
“A breath of fresh air” - Music Love
Recorded and filmed live in the stunning Bangalow Uniting Church, Buckingham has been
penning songs for her next release and “Real Life” is a sneak peek into the new work.
“I’m paying more attention to lyrics than ever before” Buckingham says “These days, I find
myself mainly writing songs that speak to my experience of being a woman, just trying to
navigate my way through life. ‘Real Life’ is deeply personal, but when I shared a rough
demo of it online so many women wrote to me saying that they could relate. That’s what
prompted me to release the song properly and go on tour - I want to share my stories
because they’re other people’s stories too.”
This tour is the start of a new chapter for Buckingham, who has spent the last couple of
years touring with the likes of Kasey Chambers, James Reyne, Jordie Lane and Diesel,
writing and performing in the USA and lapping the country three times on sellout tours of
her own.
"Gorgeous and moving... with an authenticity that is undeniable" - The Au Review
Bringing her trademark intimate show to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and
Lismore, Buckingham will take the stage solo, sharing stories behind the new songs and
re-working favourites from her last two albums.
“Winsome songs delivered with empathic delicacy” - Rolling Stone
"Compelling, beautiful... she'll take you on a journey home" - The Music
