Pineal is a fusion band of young musicians who specialise in RnB, Soul and hip hop speckled throughout with jazz influences. The band’s name derives from the pineal gland of the brain, responsible for heightened intuition and is thought be the gateway to the soul- reflecting the way the band focuses on the “feel” of the music. The core of the band consists of drums, keys and bass featuring vocals and saxophone.
August Moon is a singer-songwriter located in Wollongong, NSW. He has been writing music since the age of 11, and has placed in several songwriting competitions, most recently placing second with his song “Not For Me” in the ACMF National Songwriting Competition. His style can be most succinctly described as indie-folk-coming-of-age-midwest-emo-slightly-country-influenced-but-we-don’t-talk-about-it-pop.
