‘With a voice like silk and gravel Ms Stone will woo you and her Velvetones get all you Foxes trottin’ and Jitter-Bugs a-jiving with a night of Jazz straight out of your gramophone! Come down to Petersham Bowling Club for an unforgettable evening of Jazz and Swing Music.’

‘For over 20 years Ms Mouna Stone has been delighting audiences with her unique voice which has been described as a mixture of Billie Holiday and Nina Simone.'

Mouna has gained some recognition for her combination of Vintage style and glamour with a singing voice to match. Notably she has been a feature artist in Maisie Cohen’s documentary ‘Out of the Blue’ about musicians of the Blue Mountains and has been featured and interviewed for online Style guide Missy Confidential.

She has worked with various Jazz and Alternative musicians throughout the Blue Mountains and Sydney Region. Mouna had a residency at the historic Paragon Café’s Golden Bar with Pianists Matthew Dennet and Oliver O’Reilly. She has sung for a vintage Fashion Parade, backed burlesque acts such as Rosie Rivette and Sheena Miss Demeanor, had her own Jazz trio and more recently a two-woman Cabaret show with Rose Skylark at Low 302 bar in Sydney.

Her new group Ms Stone and the Velvetones has been two years and two lockdowns in the making and she is so excited to debut this special outfit of talented musicians featuring – Jonathan Richards on Trumpet. Johnny is the musical equivalent of a wizened chameleon, having sported so many musical colours in his 35-year musical career (such as working with big bands in London, to Samba in Sydney), that he makes Joseph’s Technicolor dream-coat look plain old RGB.

Daniel Wilkes- Double Bass- graduate of a BA in music; Dan is used to controlling the low end of a band. Though he is a long-term appreciator of Jazz; he is just 2 years into converting his bass skills to an upright Bass. His sincerest wish is to spark a love for this genre in others!

Nirvana Bista on Guitar has been playing face-melting guitar for quite some time- even breaking a world record in 2015 for ‘World’s fastest guitarist’. He is influenced by the playing of Guthrie Govan, Django Reinhardt, and Pritesh Walia to name a few. Nirvana’s playing is a joy to listen to.

Patrick Harrison on Piano originally trained in classical techniques and has performed mostly in Sydney with many different collaborative groups. He is now currently adding a notch to his belt with a degree in Jazz studies and is keen to keep building up his musical chops.

Special Guest- Tom Oliver on Drums completed an Advanced Diploma of Music after already touring and performing with band Nativosoul and now creating bluesy beats with group Cobalt Blues.
