Marilyn Maria and Nyanza join forces at the Petersham Bowling Club on the 9th of May to bring you a night of grooves and loud noises

March 2020, Australian pubs shut, and in search of a new extra curricular activity, four friends came together in a Marrickville garage and formed Marilyn Maria. Taking namesake from Monroe and the virgin martyr, with influences from The Drones to Shakira, Marilyn Maria have settled into an Australiana suburban groove; loud, catchy and cathartic. 

Nyanza make blistering, maximalist rock. Drawing from diverse influences such as Swans, Grant Green, George Harrison and Ennio Morricone, they craft textural soundscapes out of fuzz and anarchy but with earwormy choruses and tight grooves. The current 6 person lineup brings a huge wall of sound to stages across Sydney.

Under 18s are welcome at the Petersham Bowling Club but must be accompanied by an adult.
