Triple Bill – Indie Folk/singer songwriter

Award winning Northern Rivers based songwriter Matt Hill will present his carefully crafted indie folk songs from his new album, Box and Whisper Plot. His band features bass maestro Brett Canning (Missy Higgins, The Audreys), drummer Scott Hills (Graeme Connors, The Flood) and saxophonist Gabriella Hill. Matt is currently touring to support the new album which has echoes of The National, Husky and Nick Drake.

Brett Canning will also present a set of his own material. Brett was nominated for an APRA award for a collaboration on the song Stay with Josh Cunningham from The Waifs and was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for his song Glad That You’re Around.

Clancy Menzies will round out this songwriters triple bill with her intoxicating vocals and spiralling melodies. Now based in Brisbane but hailing originally from Bellingen, audiences can expect to carry home some northern tranquillity after tonight’s gig.
