The Bud Kovacs Quartet

Sydney tenor sax giant Timothy ‘Bud’ Kovacs returns to Lazybones: Level 1 for a nighttime program of full-swing-ahead four-piece jazz. Sharing the bandstand is the smooth and subtle supporting rhythm section made up of Perth-born guitarist Harry Tompsett and local legends Matt Lamb and George ‘Bluebird’ Greenhill (double bass & drums). The quartet will perform a tastefully curated yet enthrallingly spontaneous set of 50’s and 60’s era Bebop and Hard Bop, drawing on the works of jazz pioneers such as Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk & more.
