This is a modern soul revue.

Lachlan Mitchell (Laneous, Vulture St Tape Gang, Barney McCall, Harry James Angus, Jazz Party, Laneous & The Family Yah, Kafka) is a musician that needs no introduction. He has been an ongoing muse and catalyst for an entire wave of soul music in Australia. The likes of Gilles Peterson has been playing his music for well over 10 years. Going back as far as the mid-2000’s he has consistently been (sometimes far) ahead of the curve.

Uncomfortable Science is Laneous, your favourite musicians favourite musician, directing a hand picked line-up of local heavy-hitters through an improvised jam with just a whiteboard and a pen. Imagine a jazz/soul/hip hop all-star band, then put a true compositional mastermind behind the wheel of that Cadillac, that’s Uncomfortable Science.

This Sydney edition pulls 3 members from the incomparable Godtet: Dave Rodriguez, Jan Bangma and Tully Ryan with another special guest to be announced.

Natalie Slade is a Sydney based Nu Soul/Jazz artist who stands out if not for her emotive, buttery vocal tones then for her compelling approach to storytelling. Slade started out by releasing a range of collaborations with artists like Steve Spacek, Katalyst and Plutonic Lab and then in 2020 she released her first solo record, closely followed by the remix EP in 2021. The stunning debut album - produced and co-written with Simon Mavin of Hiatus Kaiyote - CONTROL was released on London based label Eglo Records, the imprint responsible for pivotal releases from Floating Points and Fatima. The record received support from tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, J.Rocc, Carista and Jamz Supanova, with both releases featured on Bandcamp weekly and the remix EP listed in Bandcamp’s top 5 electronic releases of 2021.

Cinta might be slightly newer to the scene but has risen to well-deserved notoriety as a funk and neo-soul powerhouse. A true contemporary of Australia's modern soul royalty. Packing a 10 piece band, this stuff will change your life like true soul music is meant to do. Their debut album brought a rich harmonic pallet with intriguing textures entwined, lyrically Cinta flows freely and philosophically seeking instead to refine her questions of the world rather than force insufficient or dogmatic answers. Hypnotic optimism pervades Cinta’s songs, offering listeners an empathetic hand in which to hold as we navigate a world of ever-increasing loneliness.

The record is sold out now so you better catch them in person. Live? Ask the hundreds that flock to her solo shows. This artist is THE party.
