James Kenyon is a Melbourne based, Adelaide-raised singer-songwriter.

Following in the tradition of Don Walker and Paul Kelly, Kenyon threads narrative through music to tell Australian stories in a contemporary voice.

Songs of broad plains, bright sun, grey suburbs, the grit of bitumen and the exhilaration of speed, they traverse regret, grief and hope, and sing of those who do not go gently into that good night.

Following up his critically acclaimed 2012 debut album 'The North Pole', Kenyon has spent over 2 years crafting his sophomore release 'Imagine you are Driving' with producer Nick Huggins.

The former aborist, shearer's hand and social worker's songs reflect the land where he lives and works. The characters, stories, tragedies and triumphs form a lyrical road map of the country and suburbs. They're often personal but always allow the listener a way in to share the journey.

Kenyon is renowned for his powerful live performances, which have seen him play throughout Australia and internationally alongside Marlon Williams, Liz Stringer, Charlie Parr, Jordie Lane and many others.

'Imagine you are Driving' is due for release on October 7 through Little Lake/MGM Records.

Simple as the sun, Slow Dancer shines a little light on Australian r'n'b. Allow your heart strings to get a little tangled in the melted chocolate vocals and original, low key, emotional funk that only Slow Dancer can deliver.

Drawing parallels with the work of early 90's r'n'b flavours such as Mark 'The Mac' Morrison, Blackstreet and the immensely popular catchy funk coming out of that period, and the more recent soulfulness of John Legend, Slow Dancer is bringing back r'n'b, it's best bits and what it used to stand for, to make something new of it. He seems to have an inherent understanding, formed out of his love for the genre since he was a child, of what makes r'n'b and soul what it should be.
