Huxton Creepers, a band that anyone with a passing familiarity with the Australian live music scene in the 80s would know, captured a generation of fans with their delicate blend of power pop and good old rock and roll.

They are now set to re-release their re-mastered classic album 12 Days to Paris, a double CD featuring bonus b-sides, live tracks, demos and other Huxton Creepers rarities.

The band will perform special shows in VIC, NSW and QLD and these select shows herald one last hurrah for the Creepers. They have played on the odd occasion since they went their separate ways at the end of the 80s and this tour to promote their re-release of 12 Days to Paris will quite likely be the last time the band will perform as a group.

Once again Australias pubs and venues will echo with that unique power-pop sound that could only be Huxton Creepers.

For those that came in late, Huxton Creepers burst onto the scene in 1984. They rose quickly on the back of their live reputation to become a staple of the national touring circuit and were included on several influential compilations. Signed to Big Time Records, their 1986 debut album 12 Days to Paris and attendant singles dominated public radio and the alternative charts and eventually made it to #24 on the Melbourne mainstream charts. In 1987 they recorded a cover of Pretty Flamingo which went top 40 and got them further commercial radio play and mainstream coverage. Their second album So This is Paris was released in 1988 and was critically acclaimed.

In early 1990 the EP Small Mercies was released. The band began to move in different directions, with Paul Thomas moving on to join Weddings, Parties, Anything and Rob Craw formed a couple of outfits, most notably the Victory Girls.

1996 saw Afterlife, a Best Of compiled by the band and released on Viridian thru Shock, together with a re-union tour and 2009 saw the band reunite properly for the first time with drummer Arch Law to support The Stems at a now legendary sold out show at The Corner Hotel.

Now in 2011, the Huxton Creepers are reforming for one last hurrah with their re-mastered 12 Days to Paris released through Fuse Music Group on September 9th. Fans will be no doubt scrabbling to get their hands on this new double CD packed with bonus tracks and other rarities, and climbing over each other for tickets to see them live.
