DJ. Digger. Promoter. Master of the dark arts, DJ Pressed has more wax than Madam Tussauds. His influences stem from the Jamaican sound system culture, 1990s big beat, the bliss of a jazz club dance floor and a post rave chill room. Sounds like brooding beats with ephemeral layered tapestries. DJ Pressed journeys through trip hop to drum and bass and stops along abstract hip hop, dub, liquid dnb, big beat, tech funk, and breaks. He's at home mixing elegant melancholic to organ shaking bass. Like your hopes and dreams. The beats will be broken.

From humble beginnings spinning records on Hobart’s first hip-hop radio shows, to DJing professionally on five continents, Andrew M (a.k.a. HawaiianShirtGuy) is back in Tassie, once again spinning records in public. Years of crate digging in New York, London, Tokyo and many points in between have yielded boundless treasures, some of which he will be sharing this Friday night. For your listening pleasure, expect a chilled selection of feel-good after-work vibes, on the funky/soulful/jazzy/hip-hop tip.
