Perth's purveyors of the biggest and best in live Comedy - The Comedy Lounge, are thrilled to be hosting a raucous new monthly night at Freo.Social! Expect side splitting laughs from the very best in local, national and international comedy every month.
Unfortunately Tommy Dassalo is unable to make this month's Comedy Lounge, thus October's edition will feature Nick Cody, Brett Blake, Andrew Wolfe & Corey White.
*DOORS OPEN 7PM / SHOW COMMENCE 8PM SHARP*
Nick Cody's style of easy going comedy sees him consistently selling out shows and over-achieving his way around the globe, all the while becoming a regular fixture on TV and radio at home in Australia.
Boasting a solid fan base of Cody devotees at home and abroad, he has also sold out shows whilst racking up rave reviews, not only at every comedy festival here in Australia, but also the Edinburgh Fringe Festival & the Soho Theatre in London. He also has performed numerous times at the invite-only Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, as well as the New York Comedy Festival & Johannesburg Comedy Festival.
Brett Blake suffers from ADHD and dyslexia and found himself in classes for kids who can’t read good and want to learn to do other stuff good too. School wasn't a great environment for Brett so he spent most of his time either suspended or throwing erasers into ceiling fans. All the teachers wrote him off as a no-hoper until one day his IQ was tested and they discovered he was actually close to being a genius – which still shocks him, his teachers and his mum to this day!
If you struggled in school, have been written off as an idiot or have represented yourself in court and won (seven times) then this is the ultimate underdog show for you!
When Andrew Wolfe goes berserk on the stage, you lose all control over your laughter. The charming madman of Australia is an accountant by profession, but don’t let that fool you. By the time he’s through with his act, you’ll have tears streaking down your cheeks and a big cramp in your stomach. Wolfe knows no boundaries when he’s on stage. He takes on the glaring foolishness of life that we take for granted, revealing hilarious aspects with his incisive wit. Don’t expect him to go easy—this one here is fearless and unabashed.
There are few voices in comedy as unique and potent as Corey White.
In 2014, Corey performed his debut stand up show The Cane Toad Effect – a staggeringly personal story of his experience growing up in foster care, surviving domestic violence, recovering from drug addiction and dealing with mental illness. He handled this material with a deftness and humour that far exceeded his experience, garnering critical praise and winning Best Show at the 2014 Sydney Fringe and Best Newcomer Award at the 2015 Melbourne Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.
Corey returned to the stage in 2019 with a hilarious brand-new stand-up show, X-Ray, which performed at the Adelaide Fringe, Brisbane Comedy Festival and Melbourne Comedy Festival.
