If you don't know who Bloc Party are then you should probably leave now.

Despite that, i'm going to remind you how fucking awesome this band is.

Comprised of Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes, they dropped their first album Silent Alarm in 2005, which was voted NMEs Indie Album of the Year as well as reaching number 3 on the UK Album Charts.

The band soon reached international stardom, playing to sold out shows around the world. Releasing their second studio album in late 2006, the bands goal was to craft an album that distanced them from the convential guitar band set-up by incorporating more electronically processed beats and additional instrumentation. Receiving impressive reviews from critics, the album peaked at number 12 in the US Billboard charts, whilst reaching number 2 in Australian and the UK respectively. The Guardian included it in its list of 1000 Albums to Hear Before You Die.

Their third album was released August 2008, trying to further distance themselves from a traditional rock set-up by incorporating even more electronic elements and unconventional musical arrangements, and was their last before going on hiatus in October 2009 to work on side projects, including Keles self titled endevour, Russells electronic duo Pin Me Down (featured on Kitsuné Maison Compilation 5) and Gordons band Young Legionnaire (including the drummer of La Roux).

Having officially announced their reformation in early 2011, with members stating theyre working on new material for an album to be released in the next year or so, the upcoming Australian DJ Set tour in October will be their first official shows since October 31 2009.

Having a foot in both dance and indie camps, crowds can expect to hear a mix of dance anthems with very special indie classics, edits, remixes as well as a bunch of Bloc Party Faves.
