Andy Clockwise is back from the USA for One Night Only!  to celebrate his single "Gonna Get It" (Out July 22nd) at The Lansdowne. Last year The Lansdowne hosted a SOLD-OUT audience the night lockdown was lifted to give you Clockwise's special brand of Alternative Indie Pop and New Wave which has cemented his long-standing reputation as one of Australia's most exciting and compelling ex-pats. We are glad to have him home before he takes off to the USA again for a run of dates promoting his upcoming 4. Volume Opus "War Stories"

"Gonna Get It" is a Psychedelic Punk-Disco Odyssey into the current state of affairs, with signature Clockwise enigmatic storytelling for fans of Talking Heads, Malcolm Mclaren, ESG, LCD Soundsystem Feat. and a host of secret Indie Collaborators.

" Rock is very much alive, having evolved into some James Murphy–dreamed electronic soundscape incorporating elements of everything from post-punk and new wave to spacious (and spacey) prog rock." - Flood Magazine

Clockwise has not only found his voice, but he has also found his sound. A down-to-earth pastiche of new wave, classic Bowie-style pop, and heart-wrenching poetry of Leonard Cohen & Nick Cave. Although touching on classic references Andy Clockwise is unabashedly original, with a sound and vision years in the making and a message all his own. This is an artist at that moment in his career that people talk about in the annals of Rock & Roll & Indie folklore.

In March 2020, Sydney-born, LA-based Indie Rock Troubadour Andy Clockwise was in Memphis, Tennessee on a 30-date tour of the south and midwest of the USA - but, COVID had other plans. After the cancellation, Andy and his all-Australian ex-pat band packed up their things in Los Angeles and headed home. Taking to a farm just outside of Sydney, Andy has recorded, played, mixed, and produced his long-awaited record, “War Stories”. This 4-volume behemoth of stoic poetry, insightful new wave, and folk-tinged electronica has been a lifetime in the making. And boy is it good!

War Stories is a several-volume odyssey about the battles that we put ourselves through. Real and unreal. Written, produced, and all instruments played by Clockwise himself. Created in his Hollywood Hills studio and Boulevard Recording (Pink Floyd/Fleetwood Mac) in LA, as well as during stints in London and Sydney, it features work by Omar Yakar (War On Drugs), Drew Erickson (Tim Heidecker, Roger Waters), JT Thomas (Captain Beefheart), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Kurt Vile), and Jade Macrae.

At the height of the late 00’s/10’s, during his Triple J feature album period and the onslaught of Song Exhibition and Classic FM, Clockwise moved to LA with an acoustic guitar and a laptop to play small dive bars and quickly established himself as a local Los Angeles tour de force. He reached national acclaim after a Spaceland residency (which propelled the careers of such talent as Beck, Rilo Kiley, Silversun Pickups, Local Natives, and Cold War Kids) was featured on NPR: all things considered, sold-out nights at the Troubadour (Elton John and Tom Waits) and receiving local and national radio play on KROQ FM & KCRW. Peaking at #5 on the USA FMQBY Charts. Clockwise had created so much buzz that PRINCE himself even came to check out the show! The purple one approved.

Andy will be joined by Atlas Franklin Alexander, Bow and Arrow & DJ Tyson Koh (FBI, Keep Sydney Open) on August 5th for a night of music that should definitely not be missed!
