Fresh off tour with punk-rock juggernauts, Violent Soho, The Gooch Palms are excited to announce they'll be back on home soil this August to celebrate the release of their sophomore album Introverted Extroverts, with an Australian tour and unveil the video clip to stand out track "Ask Me Why."

Introverted Extroverts is the ambitious new rock album by the Los Angeles-based, but still Newcastle through-and-through, The Gooch Palms. While keeping the band's origin of cheeky, Newcastle-punk in the forefront, Introverted Extroverts sees The Gooch Palms get smarter, denser, and a hell of a lot more catchy.

Partners in crime, Leroy Macqueen (vocals, guitar) and Kat Friend (drums, vocals) knew things were going to be different for their sophomore album - not only had they managed to charm world-renowned producer and engineer Bill Skibbe (The Kills, Protomartyr, Fucked Up) to join him in his Brenton Harbour, Michigan studio, but Kat and Leroy had been building their momentum as full time musicians. Moving to Los Angeles at the start of 2015, the duo spent the good part of a year on the road, testing the audiences, growing into their live show, re-releasing their debut NOVOs via Burger Records in the US and Surfin' Ki Records in the EU, all the while figuring out how to pay their bills solely living off of their music.

Throughout the record, The Gooch Palms paint a juxtaposed image of themselves, "most of the subject matter either deals with how we are fun loving party animals or completely isolated freaks who hate the outside world," explains Kat, "very few people know that we are introverted weirdos a lot of the time."

This year continues to be a banner of a year for the duo, as they launch their own record label, Summer Camp Records, for the release of Introverted Extroverts, out June 15 everywhere (June 10 in Australia). The album is available for pre-order now and already sold out on clear vinyl.

"[The Gooch Palms] are a two piece crazy wild time" - The 405

"Their sun kissed, surf-indebted garage punk is the ideal antidote to bleak times, with fuzzed-up thrills." - NME

"The Gooch Palms Leroy Macqueen and Kat Friend are a total party band. They sing bubblegum-flavored garage rock songs... with absurdly catchy "wooo ooooh, waahhh AI YAH YAAAH" doo-wop melodies." - Pitchfork

"The Gooch Palms have been carving out an impressive list of achievements... 2016 is shaping up to be yet another big year for the eccentric Aussie rockers." - Rolling Stone

"Offhandedly anthemic, 'Ask Me Why' pairs Leroy Macqueen and Kat Friend's shouty vocal exchanges with a raw bubblegum core... it sounds like a teenaged Roy Orbison jumpstarting a no-frills garage band." - Faster Louder
