Great Live Stand Up Comedy in the heart of the Sydney CBD!

The Sydney Comedy Club will be presenting Stand Up Comedy shows at Club York - 99 York Street Sydney - just 5 mins walk from Town Hall Station.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 21st 7pm

Christian Elderfield (UK), Dave Noble, Sam Silla, Umit Bali & Julia Wilson

Christian Elderfield's performance is packed with wonderfully punchy storytelling and clever observations. Basically it's a fun show from a witty Brit adjusting to an Aussie lifestyle.

Christian has been in many UK competition finals but since moving to Australia he's hit the comedy scene hard taking his solo show 'Christian Elderfield: Bolloxed' to the Adelaide Fringe where he was rated ★★★★½ by The Adelaide Advertiser.

"Astute Wit" - Chortle

Umit Bali, a Fijian-Indian Australian with an American accent and whose first name is kind of Turkish. Although relatively new to the Festival circuit, Umit performs regularly in some of Sydney’s best comedy clubs, where he tells stories and jokes about friendships, family and belonging and culture. Umit’s positivity and cheerfulness, mixed with his breakneck speed delivery makes his comedy infectious.

“Bali's highenergy stage presence is as entertaining as it is inspiring […] Equal parts funny and stupidly resilient, this is a man you can't help but wish the best for.” ★★★★ Alex Tate, The West Australian

“a captivating stage presence […] This is brave, insightful, confronting stuf . He’s the type of comedian you want to share a beer with after the show — purely to hear the rest of his colourful life story.” ★★★★ Katie Spain, The Advertiser

“…my feelgood show for the festival. Umit Bali was a joy to spend time with for his hour’s show. He’s a powerhouse of energy […] and he just radiates positivity.” ★★★★ – Julia Chamberlain, The Clothesline

"I saw Umit Bali and was blown away. Equal parts edgy and silly, but both hilarious. Catch him while you can still afford it." Will Anderson

Described by many as the toughest woman in comedy, Julia Wilson tours the world with her dubious morals, having plenty of seriously dangerous fun along the way!

This convent school girl, bouncer, accountant, stand-up comedian, whose humour refuses to be pigeonholed and personality can't be ignored would rather live her life with bruises and scars instead of being too scared to do anything!

Julia doesn't just take to the stage, she owns it. Her unique style of storytelling is delivered with such honesty and at a blisteringly energising pace that a shirt full of sore ribs is guaranteed!

"Wilson is as tough as a sack full of nails… takes you on a taste defying ride you won't forget in a hurry." - Drum Media

"Her gags are fired off faster than snakebites in a mongoose cage...There's nothing like laughing at other people's misfortunes, and no guilt if you can claim you were scared into it… Be warned." - TNT Magazine, UK
