Superego / Butter (EP Tour)
TICKETS $10+BF / $15 ON THE DOOR
SUPEREGO are excited to announce a national tour in Aug/September around BIGSOUND showcasing music from their forthcoming EP to audiences over east for the first time.
The five-piece returned earlier this year with the track ‘Burn’, the track and accompanying video harnessing a ferocious energy with lyrics centring on the dissatisfaction of society, the poor treatment of refugees, history of violence and juxtaposition of attempting to flee a dying Earth only to be rejected. The track was swiftly followed up with ‘Caller ID’ with bassist Toby Batchelor and guitarist Lachlan Dymond trading verses back and forth on vocals. The tracks showcase a shift in dynamic for the band drawing from influences such as King Krule, Mount Kimbie, Flying Lotus and more.
The group formed in 2016 garnering acclaim from their high energy live show and debut EP Jasmine & Licorice (with engineering from A Tribe Called Quest’s long time mixer David Kennedy) which saw them tour Australia multiple times, play prestigious festivals such as WOMAdelaide, Strawberry Fields, Groovin’ The Moo & Woodford and being hand chosen to support acts such as Midnight Oil, Sampa The Great, Remi and more.
