After two years of relentless touring both locally and across the pond, Melbourne rockers Stonefield are back with an exciting glimpse of what is to come in 2015.
'Golden Dream' is the first taste of new music from the Findlay sisters - Amy (vocals/drums), Hannah (guitar/vocals), Sarah (keys/vocals) and Holly (bass/vocals) - and showcases a dreamier, more psychedelic sound than previously heard from the four-piece. The track illustrates a distinct evolution for the band, stripping their trademark thundering sound back into a woozy, sparkling gem. This is certainly Stonefield v2.0.
"The song has a real sense of female strength. It thrives on the energy of a man longing for her to come back to him. It's a woman's perspective of the classic masculine band-on-the-road story - reassuring their partner back home that they'll come back to them. I love that the strength of the female presence is contrasted by the more delicate vocal," says Amy Findlay.
The four-piece hit the road this June/July in support of 'Golden Dream'. They'll be playing some of the currently unheard tracks from their upcoming album, which is being produced by none-other than Australian music legend Kram (Spiderbait).
The follow-up to Stonefield's acclaimed self-titled debut album is due for release in late 2015.
