Stevie Jean - full band headline show with special guests Carousel Club and Ellis King

One of the Northern Territory’s most notable young songwriters, Stevie Jean’s music has captured the minds and hearts of many around Australia. After locking down in Darwin and honing her skills as a writer, instrumentalist and producer, Stevie Jean has relocated to Melbourne.  With an album launch and a string of shows under her belt she is taking her new home-town by storm.

To listen to Stevie’s music, her influences are diverse as they are genre spanning. From The Doors to Lana Del Rey and The Black Keys, Stevie Jean has developed a musical palette that comes born out of a love for strong songwriting and individualism.

At just 21 years old, she has supported the likes of Tash Sultana, The Rubens and Ocean Alley, embraced success on national tours with Montaigne and Caiti Baker, all the while charting new successes on record with the release of her debut EP Blame Game, her debut album The Dark and with Tasman Keith on their collaborative EP project, Evenings. In May of 2021 she released her debut album, The Dark. It’s lead single, Menace, was playlisted on MTV, received rotation on Triple J and was featured in music blogs and magazines including NME and The Guardian. She also received artist spotlights from Triple J Unearthed and AIR News.

A fiery industry favourite, Stevie’s captivating presence as a performer has earned her acclaim on festival stages from The Hills Are Alive to Party In The Paddock and BIGSOUND, not to mention taking home NT Best Live Voice at the National Live Music Awards in 2017 and 2018.

Carousel Club is a six-piece guitar pop band based in inner-north Melbourne. From what began as a group of friends, quickly turned band in 2017. With a well-received EP under their belt, an afternoon slot at The Hills Are Alive; Carousel Club’s sound has gained attention on Australia’s top radio station, Triple J and Triple J Unearthed alike.  With Club in the name to perfectly encompass the bands collaborative and creative dynamic; with members coming and going, yet Ryan and Mat remain at the heart of it all. Carousel Club are a new age band drawing from the indie-rock and jangle-pop traditions which sticking true to what they are all about; sun-dappled hooks and cooing vocals. The music is equally blissful as it is a bashful, with dreamy, yet energetic grooves. The looping guitar sounds layering over sun-dappled synths mixed with catchy melodies fluttering overhead; Carousel Club’s choruses will easily live in your head rent free.

Ellis King is a 25-year-old singer/songwriter from Tasmania. After moving to Melbourne at the age of 9, she began to show a passion for music, dabbling in an array of instruments and genres until realising it was the songwriting aspect that really drew her in. After focussing on her studies within the music industry for the past few years, she has decided to finally pursue a calling as a musician. Drawing inspiration from a vast line-up of musicians predominately across the pop, folk and indie genres has helped Ellis find her sound as you hear it now.
