BRILLIG invite you into their "SPEAKEASY" world, filled with swingin' gin joints, smoky Bourbon bars, Berlin Weimar decadence and exclusive underground charm. Featuring new original music, hits from now back to the 1920s, cabaret seating, special drink creations and secret password entry.
The Award-winning "Speakeasy Sessions" return!
After a sold-out and acclaimed Fringe Fest season, where the show picked up a Weekly Award for Best Music Show, Brillig reprise their popular collection of newly written songs and a few classics.
Once again the Grace Emily will be transformed into Brillig's own "Speakeasy" club, a perfect setting to chase away the winter blues.
The one-night-only show will be an official part of newly announced Adelaide festival: "Umbrella - Winter City Sounds".
Blending enchanting Americana with Weimar-era cabaret Brillig perform their show with acoustic and electric guitars, electric and fretless bass, accordion, ukulele, harmonica and the featured lead vocals of Elizabeth Reid & Matt Swayne.
With sly humour, off the cuff banter and sincerity the Brillig trio deliver crafted songs with a sense of occasion and purpose.
Cautionary tales, drinking odes, and a tip of the hat to the 1920s - both USA's prohibition & Germany's decadance of this time - fill Brillig's song list.
These songs themselves filled with sinners, saints, dancers, drinkers and those who are looking only for redemption.
Prohibition never tasted so good!
