DJ Hell
Described as the Godfather of electroclash, the ever stylish DJ Hell has continued to balance minimalism with the more chic trance and hardcore. He's a hellraiser who dares to be different. Helmut Geier (DJ Hell) is a futurist and an anti-superstar DJ and is as far removed from the typical DJ gigolo as you're likely to find. Born in Munich, but residing in both NYC and Berlin he draws his creativity from these two artistic global where he runs his seminal label, Deejay Gigolos.

Deejay Gigolos is responsible for spearheading the electroclash movement by using subtle samples and murky melodies. The label has been home to tracks from Jeff Mills, Christopher Just and David Carretta among others. DJ Hell always goes one step further when making records. Not satisfied by simply taking a standard beat and overlaying a repetitive synth, DJ Hell nurtures the synth lines and is aggressive with his rhythms. Besides releasing his 1994 debut album Geeteert and Gefedert (on Disko B), he's also recorded the massive floor stomper Munich Machine while continuing to DJ around the globe.

DJ Hell's love of Chicago and Detroit house (Geier is one of few to be recognised by the legendary Detroit techno crew), punk and disco is renown, likewise his deep-rooted knowledge of music and his indubitable flair for lateral thinking. The soccer-mad German spinner is an eccentric artist who revels in being diverse.

DJ Hell's always been one to play on the alternative. Actually, he's more experimental than alternative. He draws on punk influences of the 70s and 80s to create a truly unique and twisted dance-floor experience. Thrashing around in a club has never been so much fun. Take a listen to his colossal NY Muscle and Fuse Presents Hell and, of course, Teufelswerk (the devil's work), albums for a taste of the dark side. For DJ Hell it's all about finding new angles and opportunities. Be prepared for a night of surprises.

Kikumoto Allstars LIVE (Melbourne / Sydney only)

In the spirit of the original Chicago acid house of Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard and Adonis, and with the intensity of modern dance, comes the Kikumoto Allstars aka DJ/Producer Cam Farrar. Kikumoto Allstars holds a candle to the original house music with screaming acid basslines and melodic moments that made this pioneering dance music so great. Although intentionally retro, his music is informed by today's dance with innovative arrangements and twisted, peaking crescendos. The Kikumoto Allstars remind us that acid house music is back and bigger than ever: YOU STILL CAN'T STOP THE HOUSE!
