THE SAY ANARCHY AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Featuring The Getaway Plan & Guests

SAY ANYTHING ANNOUNCE FIRST AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR!

After more than ten years, four studio albums and an immeasurable amount of

anticipation, the wait is finally over! Destroy All Lines is pleased to announce that this July,

Say Anything will voyage down under for their first ever Australian headline tour. The

Say Anarchy Australian Tour will be the bands first in over three years, with the

Californian indie-punks last in Australia to wow audiences at the 2009 Soundwave

Festival.

The ingenious indie punk brainchild of Max Bemis, perhaps best known for their

provocative lyrics, quirky music and eccentric live shows, has been making their odd,

ever-changing and simply unclassifiable music for over a decade, with no signs of slowing

down. Their breakthrough studio debut and critically acclaimed 2004 release ...Is A Real

Boy garnered praise from media across the board, hurling them into the spotlight. With all

eyes on the fresh--‐faced duo, Bemis (just 20 years old at the time) took the natural next

step. Grabbing a few more of his friends and diving into a relentless touring schedule,

Bemis began building a loyal following through his tongue-in-cheek outbursts and

animated live show.

Fast forward a few years and were met with the heralded release of Anarchy, My Dear

(March 2012, via UNFD). When it came to recording studio album number four Bemis

reconnected with producer Tim OHeir [Sebadoh, Superdrag, All-American Rejects].

Fuelled by a sense of urgency and aggression, the product of the collaboration is a

showcase of the raw energy, dynamism and exuberance that sparked the bands early

success. In Bemis own words, Anarchy, My Dear is our first attempt to write a true punk

record; thematically speaking, its a collection of songs about subverting society and

destroying the boundaries humankind has placed upon ourselves both physically and in

our minds. Coincidentally, it also happens to be the first record weve made in years

where we had total freedom to explore our edgier side and present a raw picture of what

the band is truly about onstage.

Australian fans were tempted with a taste of the animated and eccentric live show Say

Anything has become renowned for way back in 2009. Come July Say Anything will

reward their Australian fans patience with the opportunity to take in their full live

experience with extended sets.

Fresh from appearances on two of the country's premier music festivals (namely Big Day

Out and Groovin' The Moo), Melbourne's The Getaway Plan have been touring

relentlessly since the release of their sophomore album Requiem in November 2011. With

a solid reputation for delivering one of Australia's most explosive live shows, they will set

the stage for Say Anything to bring the show home on all dates. The Say Anarchy

Australian Tour is destined to be one of the Must See shows of 2012.
