THE AGE OF FLOODS
The Age of Floods project is a meditation on human resilience in the face of a drowning world. Beginning with the familiar - consumerist perversities, migratory struggles, and continued attempts to tame nature-the suite emerges to a new reality where our most treasured beliefs give way to an invigorated sense of self, exquisitely, albeit momentarily, lucid.
Initially conceived by Berish Bilander in 2012 as a set of private poems, The Age of Floods was transformed into musical form thanks to a collaborative improvisatory process involving Danish singer/bassist Ida Dueland-Hanson and Australian musicians Sam Hall and Andrew Brooks.
For this performance The Age of Floods will feature a new band with Lisa Salvo, Peter Knight, Maria Moles and Tamara Murphy.
