Following last years sold out run, Mickey Avalon will once again bring his sizzling live show back to Australia this February. Avalon will re-ignite his audiences fervor for his unique rhyming style and edgy subject matter when he and DJ Mackey bring his sexed-up grunge-rap back to the Forum.
Brought up in the hard world of the seedy Hollywood underground, Avalons passion for hip hop led him off the streets and into a collaboration with ex-MTV VJ Simon Rex (aka Dirt Nasty). The two built a cult following in the LA club scene and Avalon became the first artist ever signed to Interscope/My Space records. He soon found himself collaborating with some of LAs hottest artists including Young Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri and Unwritten Law. In 2007 Skinnie Magazine dubbed Avalon Americas Glam Rapper, a moniker that has stuck ever since.
Avalons songs have been featured in several films and television shows including Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, and the HBO series Entourage and Hung. In 2009 he joined forces with Snoop Dogg, Slightly Stoopid and Stephen Marley in the much-heralded, 20-city Blazed and Confused tour. He is currently working on a new album to be released soon.
