Arranging trap music from the 2010s to present, improvising ensemble Melbourne Trap Orchestra bring their individual brand of high-energy performance to the Kindred Bandroom. Melbourne Trap Orchestra is composed of members from a diverse range of musical backgrounds, united by their love of Trap music. Drawing on both Gen Z nostalgia and love for the trap adjacent music of today, Melbourne Trap Orchestra have directed 2 highly successful events with overwhelming demand for more.

Joined onstage by vocalist Big Chocolate, the band plays a set of the greatest hits from their first 2 events and a few new additions. This event will include arrangements of music from the catalogues of the Migos, Playboi Carti, Yeat, Chief Keef and Ice Spice among others. MTO blends Jazz Fusion with modern popular music for aggressive, hard-hitting performances.

Melbourne Trap Orchestra will be accompanied by the genre-bending In Xira, a collective that combines traditional instrumentation and modern synth and samplers to create eclectic new music. Their diverse range of sounds could be described as experimental acid jazz and rock with a blend of atmospheric synthesisers, delicate guitar lines, eloquent vocals and horns playing inside the pockets of complex rhythms of lush soundscapes. Fresh off the release of their debut tracks “Baléon” & “His Brother Theo”, In Xira have proven to be one of Melbourne’s most exciting new acts.
