Sydney songwriter Matt Thomson performs dreamy indie folk-pop songs from the album, supported by cinematic pop-art band Dream Good.
With a smattering of Elliot Smith, a dash of Nick Drake, a pinch of Jeff Buckley and a hint of Bowie, singer-songwriter and guitarist Matt Thomson may just bring a tear to your eye with his soul searching songs that are one moment edgy and the next dreamy and romantic. Matt is also one half of indie-folk duo Born in October, awarded best EP at Nimbin Roots Festival's ARMA awards.
Founded by Joshua Heath and Mitchell Sloan, DreamGood defines their music as Cinematic Art Pop. Influenced by the atmosphere and storytelling of cinema, the songs are strange, funny, quirky and examine contradictions in the human condition. Sometimes grand, sometimes sparse, always heartfelt. DreamGood's latest songs explore existential life through a self-professed 'world famous fortune teller' Paris De Bonne'.
To open the evening - singer songwriter Emily C Smith will be doing a set.
Doors open 7:30pm.
