In May this year David Bowie’s musical stage production Lazarus will make its debut in Melbourne. My friend Jules and I thought this is the perfect excuse to put together a little shindig celebrating this fact and celebrating one of the greatest artists of our time, or indeed any time.

And what better day than May 4th (Stars War day) to celebrate the greatest Starman that ever lived.
To that end we have gathered together a glorious ensemble of poets, dancers and musicians presenting work by and inspired by Bowie in the salubrious surrounds of the Toff in Town bandroom. 

Cancer is the worst. Like really. It extinguished David Bowie’s flame from this mortal coil way too early and has done the same for way too many of Melbourne’s finest musicians lately. With this in mind, all proceeds from the gig will go towards the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Love is lost… but then love is found again through song and dance and writing and expression and a bunch of legends in a room unified by this. Those legends include you because we can’t do this without you. So please join us for what will be the most memorable of evenings celebrating the one and only Starman, Mr David Bowie.
