Following on from 2010's The Liberation of..., an album that garnered critical plaudits and multiple awards, including the prestigious Taite Music Prize, Ladi6 will release her highly anticipated third studio album later this year. Sydney and Melbourne heads will be some of the first in the world to hear the new sounds as Ladi 6 touches down with bandmates Parks and Julien Dyne this July for some one-off preview performances.

The as yet to be titled album was recorded between Studio A in Detroit, Michigan and Revolver Studios in Waiuku with the first single 'Ikarus' produced by Parks being described as a beautiful amalgamation of soul and futuristic hip-hop complemented by Ladi6's hypnotic vocals. Look out for a video for the next single 'Shine On' in time for the tour.

Joining her on the night is Detroit's Waajeed. In the shadows of a towering Motown legacy, and under the tutelage of electronic heroes of Detroit techno, Waajeed pioneers in a distinct sound in hip-hop which continues to inform the next generation of beat-builders worldwide.
After years of championing this beat movement through personal projects, concept groups such as Platinum Pied Pipers, a stellar resume of collaborations, and his own Bling47 label, Waajeed looks to pivot forward in a new direction, crafting a new sound and energy.
