Aidan's Anime Band is a Sydney - based jazz band that brings Anime music, as well as progressive J-pop and Japanese video game music to life through fresh, jazz-inspired arrangements. Our live performances are a unique blend of traditional jazz improvisation and modern Japanese music. The band has performed at various venues and has consistently received positive feedback from the audience. The common repertoire as of now includes music from the following well-known anime:

One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis: Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service

Aidan's Anime Band comprises of skilled musicians who aim to honour modern Japanese culture as well as the rich jazz tradition in a powerful fusion of musical genres. The band members are:

Aidan Wong - Tenor Sax, Eric Tsai - Guitar, Thomas Tyrell - EWI (Electronic woodwind instrument), Callum Eggins - Bass & Dorby Xu – Drums

Aidan Wong is an up-and-coming jazz tenor saxophonist, composer and bandleader in the Sydney Jazz scene. Currently studying Jazz Performance in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Aidan is forming a strong improvising sound, having studied for two years under the highly acclaimed saxophonist, Jeremy Rose, and has played with the Andrew Dickeson Quintet celebrating the music of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers in venues such as the Foundry and 2023 Manly Jazz Festival. He is also a core member of ‘2MBS Fine Music FM AiR’ grant recipients, Mosaic Jazz Collective – a Sydney based large jazz ensemble performing original compositions by emerging Australian artists.

Rollinson & Kiss Play Monk! is a new project by Sydney guitarists Tim Rollinson and William Kiss featuring the compositions of legendary jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. The duo aim to take a fresh approach to the music, being informed by an improvisational jazz background while exploring the compositions further on the bandstand by manipulating form and arrangement.

Tim Rollinson is best known as guitarist/composer & founding member of DIG (Directions in Groove), but has also been a member of the Vince Jones Band, The Black-Eyed Susans, The Greasy Chicken Orchestra, Clayton Doley & The Flashy Dashbacks & James Ryan's Soul Jazz Express. William Kiss is a jazz guitarist and rock session musician who has played with artists as diverse as Clayton Doley and A Broken Sail, while also fronting his own group the William Kiss Quartet, featuring musicians such as students from the Sydney Conservatorium.
