AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2008 KillRockstar Touring, SRH Clothing and Controversy join forces to bring one of the most highly anticipated debut tours to hit Australian shores in many years - Kottonmouth Kings are about to land! After fifteen plus years at the top of their game, countless US tours, and nine classic albums, Australians fans are about to FINALLY welcome Kottonmouth to our sunburnt shores as they tour their latest album CLOUD NINE. Full details: http://www.killrockstar.com.au/ KOTTONMOUTH KINGS (USA) California based hip-hop/punk rock hybrid are sitting high on their own musical cloud of stoney vibrations. After breaking the Billboard Top 40 with no support from radio or MTV with their last studio album, Cloud Nine , the Kings showed the world why they are one of the biggest success stories in independent music today. The group's headlining tours through the US and Japan were completely sold out, they finally landed on the cover of High Times Magazine, headlined the 2006 instalment of the Cannabis Cup and capped things off by becoming the High Times “Band of the Year. On August 28th , 2007, The Kottonmouth Kings looked to get a little higher with the release of Cloud Nine . The group's ninth studio album features 22 songs of musical mayhem that continues to push the group into uncharted territories. "We really stepped it up on Cloud Nine. We felt we needed to make a statement and take it to the next level," says frontman Brad X. "As we continue to evolve we don't need to reinvent ourselves, we just magnify ourselves and continue to expand who we are and what we do. Cloud Nine is a more intense record but the climate of our world is more intense." www.myspace.com/kottonmouthkings http://www.kottonmouthkings.com/ HED(PE) While the world seems more insistent on black and white rather than every shade of grey in between, music isn't like that. “It's not like math,” comments Jared Gomes, (hed)p.e. vocalist, “it has shades of different colors all at the same time, and that's why it's so powerful.” It's along the same rationale that Albert Einstein used to think in both imagery and music. And it's the same shades of colors in between that help make it virtually impossible to describe (hed)p.e. as anything short of “psychotic.” They are not a sound bite. To that end (hed)p.e.'s newest release, Insomnia , is an exhibition in fusion between punk rock, hip hop, jazz, reggae, heavy metal, and thrash. Insomnia can't be labeled and it can't be described in words, in fact, to accurately write about Insomnia and its influences would take more than a page, with each bar of music containing a potpourri of genres. And that's not to say (hed)p.e. has stopped pushing the musical envelope, straying further into the musical taboo than the mainstream. “There's other times when we try and make it obvious,” notes Jared on (hed)p.e.'s lack of complacency fitting into a scene. “It's more of a bipolar thing where we're going straight from pure punk into pure hip hop.” That may not be standard, but they do it anyway. http://www.myspace.com/hedpe TOUR DATES & VENUES Wednesday 5 March Sunshine Coast @ The Sands Tavern Thursday 6 March Gold Coast @ Coolangatta Hotel Friday 7 March Sydney @ Gaelic Theatre Saturday 8 March Newcastle @ Cambridge Hotel Sunday 9 March Melbourne @ Corner Hotel Monday 10 March Melbourne @ The East Brunswick
