“High Times”

Join us in celebrating Northcote Rise Festival’s return after 13 years in three spaces on Sunday February 18th: Northcote Theatre, Bastings St and High Note.

For just $10, get down to Close Counters’ curation in the Northcote Theatre. The duo fresh from a slew of European dates, sold out dates at The Corner & The Gaso, and from picking up ‘Best Electronic Work’ for ‘SOULACOASTA II’ record at the Music Victoria Awards, have crafted their favourite locals to join the bill Mildlife (DJ SET), Tornado Wallace, Sophie McAlister, Emma Volard (live), Immy Uwusu (live) and Katie Pearson.

On Bastings St, be immersed in El Gran Mono’s sound-system: the first picó sound system built outside Colombia, featuring artwork by the great sound system artist William 'El Maestro' Gutierrez.

With a reputation for high-energy parties drawing inspiration from the original picó sound systems of Colombia, El Gran Mono’s ‘familia’ crew will be channeling this energy for an afternoon of music at Northcote Rise Festival featuring DJs: Mothafunk, Slim Shady (COL), Jumps, LUNA (COL), Walla C, Prine Bastard, Muiscaya (COL), and Johnny El P.

This event will occur on the un-ceded, sovereign lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present; and to the ongoing resistance against colonialism since 1788. Always Was, Always Will Be.
