GOOD DOOGS are West Oz's answer to the "surf-rock" sub genre that is sweeping through the Australian music scene at the moment, catapulting the likes of DUNE RATS, SKEGSS and HOCKEY DAD to the forefront of not only national, but international music.

After the band only formed In April 2017, the fellas released their first song "Tried my Best" that was immediately added to main rotation on Triple J Unearthed.

PILERATS posted:

"Good Doogs is a new name to this sound but considering the heat of their debut single Tried My Best, it wouldn't surprise me if they become one of the best."

It's been a whirlwind start for the Doogs, they kept the momentum going by launching their fun-packed, beer-skulling debut EP "Life is Messy" to sold out venues in Mandurah and Perth this past August. This led to a string of support slots for some of the best names in Australian music - Skegss, Ruby Fields, Good Boy, The Gooch Palms and Bleeding Knees Club and the band being added to the main WAMfest Live lineup this past November, where the boys put on a show that made everyone stand up and notice. Add to that, notable slots supporting internationals Cloud Nothings (USA) and then Together Pangea (USA) respectively, and its easy to see the Doogs are mixing it with the best of them in their sound.

The boys latest single "Nothing To Do" gained immediate airplay on Triple J and debuted at number 7 on Triple J unearthed charts in February. This rolled into the band being selected to open up Bunbury Groovin The Moo Festival as the Triple J Unearthed Contest winners.

Already after such a short time, the Doogs are shaping up to be a major player in the surf-rock movement in Australia. Jump aboard the ground swell of fun that seems to be following them. Don't kook it.
