Neon drenched, eighties inspired electro-pop duo, Nakatomi just announced the release of new single, The Knife alongside a run of east coast show dates.
The Adelaide based duo worked on their latest single The Knife with Badcop (Tkay Maidza) on the sound design, Melbourne producer-engineer Jimi Maroudas (Kimbra, Bertie Blackman) to produce and mix, and tracking was done at the amazing Chapel Lane Studios in Adelaide. The result was a synth-heavy pop track with industrial beats, offering a generous nod to the eighties, which according to riptitup.com.au "sounds like Robyn producing 80s Kate Bush"
Since releasing their first single Golden Sun in August last year, the band was voted in the Top 3 acts by listeners for a Fresh FM competition and subsequently performed a live set at Channel 9. As well as gaining rotation on many community radio stations around Australia, they supported LCAW (Germany), Skies and co-headlined Futuresounds festival.
With their first tour and a spot on the Futuresounds V lineup supporting THE SWISS just announced, the recent Triple J Unearthed spotlight artists are hitting the Oxford Art Gallery Bar (Syd) on November 26.
Make sure you check out the super retro clip also, which showcases some key Adelaide locations amongst all the neon Blade Runner and Terminator inspired imagery.
