Melbourne’s Floodlights are back on the road for their biggest Australian tour yet. Hot off the release of their second album ‘Painting of My Time’ (April 21) the collective have marked themselves as a band on the rise.
Gaining global attention with 2019’s sold-out EP Backyard and 2020’s critically acclaimed debut album From a View, Floodlights went on to play sold-out shows and festivals across Australia, performing alongside the likes of Amyl and The Sniffers and Arctic Monkeys. 2023 has seen Floodlights support Pavement (USA) and Black Midi (UK) on their national tours, play the inaugural Tent Pole Festival, and feature at SXSW in Texas, USA.
Floodlights’ dynamic live performance is raw and intimate, intertwined with powerful outbursts and marching rhythms. Evocative lyricism has always laid at the heart of their songwriting and is enhanced by their unique sound. Since the beginning of their short career, Floodlights have explored themes of personal turbulence, national identity and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism. Painting of My Time signals the next step for the band, building upon these themes while showcasing their sonic progression which translates to a captivating live show.
This will be the last chance to catch Floodlights in Australia before they leave for international touring for 3 months. Don’t miss out.
