Following on from our electric show at The Railway Hotel with Alex Niggemann (GER), Darkbeat is back at The Railway Hotel [Brunswick] to do it all again with another quality act to tickle your taste buds - the Canadian born Clarian!

The mystical house music producer has collaborated with the likes of Clockwork and Guy Gerber, he was one half of the house & techno group Footprintz, and now heads up A&R at Seth Troxler's legendary label - Soft Touch. Clarian grew up in Montreal and began recording and composing as a teenager when suburban kids were falling asleep. He has since found a home for his unique releases on renowned labels such as Life and Death, Visionquest, My Favorite Robot, Supplement Facts, Turbo, Natura Sonoris and many more. Representing the forefront of Canadian new school house music, Clarian heads down under for his DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR; bringing with him a rich history of music influenced by the mid 80's cultural landscape he was born into.

Expect nothing but a classy set filled with diverse synths, deep bass and eclectic grooves!

Rumour has it that while Clarian was institutionalized at a human testing facility in the North Coast, he began song-writing as an occupational therapy to reconstruct visions of unknown origin. Clarian was released from the clinic in 2010 opted through sponsorship by a private organization known as COD for reasons that remain unclear. Since then, Clarian has become a pivotal force in underground electronic communities across the world through a stunning array of music productions, collaborations, and global live performance.

Combining the warm hum and factory grit of analog machinery, sequencers, and haunted strings, his tracks transport the listener into alternate states of mind. Some have described it as: "similar to an intensified cannabinoid induced state of sexual consciousness". Laced in homemade beats and toxic hooks, Clarian is on the fringe between experimental house and pseudo pop, re-imagining tones into an addictive cocktail with his signature dance floor poetry.

Clarian continues to take an uncharted path of unwinding curves and magnetic spheres. His EP 'Chemical Gardens' on Visionquest intertwined the zeitgeist in 2012 and since he has released records on game changing labels: Turbo, Life And Death, Supplement Facts, Rumors and My Favorite Robot (to name a few). He performs on stages, clubs, festivals, basements and sunrises worldwide with some of the underground's most influential and elusive artists.

In the summers, Clarian shadows the Berlin club scene where he spends his time off from touring mostly in a basement dreaming up his web of sound. Fronting as A&R for Seth Troxler's new indie label Soft Touch of the exotic and strange, he serves as the artistic backbone and inaugurated the label with its first release - "Is There Light At The End". Favouring a pastime for science fiction as well as a whiskey purist and chess enthusiast, Clarian is gaining a cult following of dance-a-holics who seem to relish in his often reckless exploits and obsessions of music research and experimentation.
