We are always looking at new ways to bring Melbourne something fresh and different and we are 100% confidant that our next event fits that mould perfectly. After 6 years touring the globe hosting dance parties in far-flung geographic locations, the Flying Circus crew will finally touchdown in Melbourne! The brainchild of Audiofly, the Flying Circus has situated themselves as one of the premier brands in the world with a presence in over 30 countries and all major festivals including Sonar, ADE, Movement and many more. To celebrate their Melbourne debut we have decided for a change of venue that compliments the Flying Circus vibe: the Darkbeat crew will exclusively take over Motel for a day of BBQ, friends, fun and rolling basslines. We will be utilizing the Motel rooftop to give you the ultimate Flying Circus experience!

Joining us on the day will be none other than the co-founder of Flying Circus, Audiofly's Luca. It's been years since Audiofly last played in Australia and they have just grown from strength to strength with regular releases on power house labels like Get Physical, VIVA and Connoisseur. Love your sets fun, delicious and just a little sideways? Well, Audiofly knows how to start a riot. Also joining us will be will be Tiefscwarz's Basti Schwarz. We all know Tiefschwarz and for the last decade they really have been one of the mainstays of the global techno and house scene. They have remixed everyone from Missy Elliot to Kelis and The Rapture and have headlined the world's biggest parties: we welcome back Germany's Tiefschwarz! Lastly, we can finally announce Poker Flat and Get Physical artist Alex Niggemann! Many who saw him a couple of years ago at Billboards will tell you that he took honours for best set of the night - quite a feat considering he was on the same bill as James Zabiela! Alex's feel-good house tinged with hypnotic and darker moments are perfect for the Flying Circus ethos.

We really can't wait to bring Darkbeat and the Flying Circus to Motel for the very first time! We will be bringing in our own sound to ensure Flying Circus standards are met, alongside the best free Easter BBQ you can think of to ensure all taste standards are met. Oh yeah, it is a public holiday too... so If you like good techno, tasty food, incredible vibe, new experiences and awesome people then you really have no excuse to miss out on the best goddamn travelling circus going around..




AUDIOFLY (ITA) [Luca] 

A bold move, but one which immediately began to pay off. The Audiofly name started to crop up regularly in the London scene and beyond via a series of edits, remixes and releases for underground imprints such as Fantastic House and Deleted. This initial hype led to Peace Division and DC10 resident Clive Henry to request an EP for the now legendary Low Pressings imprint. This EP, entitled "Release Yourself" caught many an ear and coupled with the DJs growing reputation as DJs, propelled Audiofly to a new level.
Fairly quickly the pair's groovy, melodic and undulating take on house music started to create a huge fan base, both in the press (DJ Magazine featured the duo on a special covermount CD), in clubs (Space Ibiza residency) and finally in production, with uber-imprints Get Physical, Mood Music, Kickboxer and Renaissance calling on their talents. 




TIEFSCHWARZ (GER) [Basti]

In a world of ever recycled trends, Tiefschwarz (deep black) is that most classic of shades. Its timeless style is testament to its staying power, and with a DJ and production career spanning over 14 years, this German deep house duo have proven just how apt a moniker can be. A series of high profile mixes in 2006, including Depeche Mode, Madonna, Roxy Music, Booka Shade, Phonique, Plastikman, dOP, and many others saw them continue perfecting their distinctive sound. Yet this was also the year in which Ali and Basti gravitated back to Berlin to found their own label, Souvenir. Basti explains "We like the idea of seeing music as a souvenir, an impression you take from somewhere. Something intimate that you remember". They haven't let this slow down their impressive production workload though, with a ten year anniversary compilation and a 2010 follow up album 'Chocolate' made in collaboration with Sant , and featuring Cassy, Seth Troxler, Dave Aju amongst others. At a perfect time to take stock of their career, the brothers are proudly contributing the ninth installment in the Watergate mix series, and have chosen a number of tracks that simultaneously pay homage to the tracks that shaped the beginnings of their career whilst also remaining very much forward looking. 





ALEX NIGGEMANN (GER)

Persistent, stubborn, straight ahead! - Alex Niggemann can be best described as idiosyncratic, impulsive and self-critical. What might be construed as negative for some people, are attributes that have paved the way to a remarkable career for this DJ and producer.
His strings of releases and remixes on labels like Get Physical, Tsuba , Supernature, 8bit, his own imprints AEON and Soulfooled and others reaches back to 2005 and showcases the stylistic variety of the 1984 born producer who's able to handle vocal-heavy house music as well dark'ish techhouse for moving masses. 

In 2013 his new Poker Flat 12" "Tangram" caused massive dancefloor movement all over the place and went straight into the boxes of Marco Resmann, Makossa, Heidi, Shir Khan, Peter Kruder, Mijk van Dijk and many many more, providing a glimpse into the even brighter future of the man they call Alex Niggemann.
