Checkerboard Lounge launch their limited edition 7" vinyl double A-side single 'Rollercoaster/Uncivil Compliance'. Having been back in the studio, this time with Jeff Lang, this sneak preview of a forthcoming new album, will feature the first airing of much new material.

Since recording at the legendary SUN Studio and releasing critically acclaimed album ‘SUN Sessions’ after reaching the semi-finals at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN, word keeps spreading about this formidable act. The album, released in 2022, collected a swathe of awards and nationwide airplay with many months at #1 on the Oz Blues and Roots radio charts.

The brainchild of renowned singer and drummer Carl Pannuzzo, the band has evolved over thirty years; breathing fire, virtuosity and improvisation into classic soul and roots originals.

Playful and unyielding, Pannuzzo is joined on stage by the cream of Australia’s talent: guitar master Shannon Bourne, Hammond virtuoso Tim Neal, and inimitable bassist Zoë Frater. World-class musicianship, unbridled passion inspired by the moment and an almost telepathic ability to create, Checkerboard are a powerhouse to be reckoned with. The evidence of their time playing together, staying true to their hearts and each other, shows an integrity and originality to a potent brew of blues that is undeniable.

From standing ovations at festivals to crammed inner Melbourne pubs, no two shows are the same. Vibrant and unforgettable, Checkerboard are a tour-de-force demanding honesty, integrity and truthful musicianship; the very essence of a live music experience.

with special guest George Carroll-Wilson (Pollyman)
