Cats Dec 9th • Polographia
Following the release of their previous single "Sly" ft. Winston Surfshirt, Sydney duo Polographia are back at it. In addition to announcing the imminent release of their third EP Friends and a national tour, Polographia have teamed up with psych-pop darling Looks Fade to give you "Feels Alright" - a name most appropriate for the heart-warming, feel good track.
Taken from the forthcoming EP, "Feels Alright" flirts with themes of nostalgia and growing up, as Polographia effortlessly layer 90s percussion and synthesisers, with a disco-tinged bassline. The lush vocals create a blissful warmth as Polographia churn out another dreamy track that will have you hooked through till the last chord.
"We had this demo inspired by corny 90s RnB love ballads and funked it up a whole bunch. After finishing up with an instrumental, it floated around for a few weeks while we listened to it on a daily basis. We both quickly noticed that it started to feel like one of those tracks that takes you back down memory lane or even makes you think about the future... I couldn't help but always think about all the great moments I've had with friends every time I put it on. The more we listened to it, the more we really started to realise how much everyone had inspired us throughout all these years, and this track really translated that for us. We want to share to the world that same feeling we felt while writing this single." - Polographia
So far in 2016, the duo have embarked on an East Coast tour supporting Snakehips, signed to Sydney label Sweat It Out! joining the likes of Yolanda Be Cool, R f s and What So Not, and sold out their hometown single launch for "Sly" ft. Winston Surfshirt. "Feels Alright" sees Polographia move from strength to strength as the duo delve deeper into their songwriting capabilities, and prepare us for what is yet to come on the upcoming Friends EP.
