Carus Thompson Acoustic At The Norfolk - 20 Year Anniversary Tour
One of Australia’s hardest working troubadours Carus Thompson is hitting the road to celebrate 20 years since his career defining double live album Acoustic At The Norfolk.
Recorded live at The Norfolk Hotel in his hometown of Fremantle, and released in 2003, when root’s music was taking the world by storm, Acoustic At The Norfolk thrust the acoustic-folk based artist onto the national stage, with opening spots for Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, John Butler, The Waifs, Dave Mathews and Pete Murray, as well as appearances at all the major festivals. Thompson then took his music to Europe where it found a big home in the UK, France and Germany.
With 8 studio albums, Thompson is now a veteran of the Australian acoustic scene. Whilst he has not scaled the dizzying height of his contemporaries from the roots era, he has made a name for himself as a songwriter and performer who always delivers authentic, energetic and engaging shows.
In this special tour he will take a trip to where it all began, playing Acoustic At The Norfolk from start to finish, accompanied by Dave Johnson on mandolin who played on the original record. Johnson will also play a set to open.
This will be a very special night, celebrating an album that is an underground favourite for many an acoustic, folk music-lover.
Music commences 9.30pm
