THE WOOHOO REVUE A fiendishly talented sextet of horns, strings and drums, The Woohoo Revue (Melb) have forged their reputation throughout Australia with their signature sound and an adrenalin-fuelled celebration, fit for dancing, celebrating, and ignoring tomorrow. Their fiery compositions and virtuosic musicianship invoke a sense of romance and bravado. Every tune expresses a sense of occasion, transporting the listener to a rampaging after-party at a circus sideshow in a palatial ballroom. Described by The Age as, "Pandemonium in a pin-striped suit," and sounding like a Balkan gypsy brass band playing a Looney Tunes soundtrack in a Roaring '20s speakeasy in a palatial ballroom. There is nothing quite like The Woohoo Revue.

PENA FLAMENCA

Sydney's hottest new eight piece flamenco ensemble Pe a Flamenca create a unique
fiesta with their own original antipodean blend of Andalucian and Latin
traditions. With a mix of musical backgrounds from Latin to funk to
jazz, the dynamic group is led by Christopher Duff on guitar and
features singer Angela Rosero, dancer Chachy Pe alver, Byron Mark on
percussion, Tom Burns Brown on bass, Keyna Wilkins on flute/piano and
Trevor Brown on saxophones and Zoe Velez on vocals/dance. From their
multiple roots, they have developed a unique sound, with many original
compositions and choreography.Pe a Flamenca fuse Spanish, Colombian and
Australian traditions to create an original, locally-fused
interpretation of this powerful art form. They have just finished a
packed, two-year residency at Sydney's iconic Spanish Club, where they
discovered a shared drive for creating flamenco frenzied dance floors
and regularly played to full houses.

WAITING FOR GUINNESS

In concert, Waiting for Guinness' spontaneous and anarchic performances are truly engaging.  The theatrical element is as strong as ever, harking back to their busking origins.  A fan once said "WFG make old music sound new somehow," and they may have a point.  The band are not traditionalists trying to re-create the past, but write contemporary and original music influenced by the styles they love.
