The group is blessed with some of Australia's finest musicians and singers, Annelise Johnson, Ines, Alphamama, Cheyenne Kavanagh, Josue Vilches, Billie McCarthy, Tabitha Ojeah, Christian Hemara, Lauren Dawes, Laura Stitt, Sophie Wilson, Sebastian Thomas, Lucinda-Mirikata Deacon, Leela Landers, Nic Jeffries, James Tuialii, Jasper Sardokee, Jessica Newey and Vivian Nk.

Gospel music is essentially the name given to the music of the African American church. Many urban genres have been influenced by Gospel Music and include Soul, Funk and R&B.

In fact the term "Soul music" is a reference to the influence of gospel music on R&B in the late 1960s. Hearing modern Gospel Music for the first time is similar to contemporary Funk, Soul, R&B but with rich, thick and energetic choral arrangements. Gospel Jamz is greatly inspired and influenced by artists such as Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker, The Clark Sisters and Donald Lawrence.

The Band:

Steve Lamante (Drums), Phil Scorgie (Bass), Mike Pensini (Keys), Tim Fisher (Keys) and Ben Ackland (Guitar/ Arranger),

Our explosive horn section includes:

Richard Maegraith (Tenor Sax and Flute), Nic Jefferies (Alto Sax and BV's), Mark Barnsley (Trombone) and Dane Laboyrie (Trumpet)

Thursday 20 June will be the debut performance for Gospel Jamz at Blue Beat.
